We explore the stunning Royal Palace complex, home to the Cambodian royal family and a symbol of the nation. We begin amid the beautiful royal gardens, landscaped with tropical plants and studded with gleaming spires. We enter the Throne Hall where the royal receptions are held and the Cambodian king's coronation took place.
We then pass the Napoleon III Pavilion made from iron, a gift from the French emperor in the 19th century. We continue to the Silver Pagoda, named after the 5000 silver tiles covering the floor, each weighing 1kg. Inside are some of the country's most cherished treasures, including a life-size gold Buddha studded with 9584 diamonds, the largest weighing 25 carats. There is also a delicate emerald Buddha made of baccarat crystal, which gives the temple its Khmer name of Wat Preah Keo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).
We leave the Royal Palace and continue to Toul Sleng museum. Here there are stark and moving reminders of Cambodia’s recent tragic past. Our expert guide will explain the historical, political and social context of the bleak period of Khmer history which followed the fall of Phnom Penh in April 1975. Lastly, we drop by to visit the street 240 and Russian market before we take you back to your hotel in Phnom Penh.

 3 day  Mekong Sunset
Light up your afternoon with a stunning sunset odyssey along the mighty Mekong River. Experience a thrilling moto-remork ride and cruises. Visit a traditional village, learn about handicrafts and taste some local snacks then admire stunning Khmer architecture before the setting sun lights up the sky with a kaleidoscope of gold and crimson colours.
Your adventure begins with a pick-up by moto-remork, the Cambodian version of the tuk-tuk. Head out of town to the Japanese Friendship Bridge, which was blown up during fighting in 1975 and was rebuilt by the Japanese in 1993. Catch a ferry across the Mekong to Mekong Island, which island is famous for silk weaving, agriculture and aquaculture. Watch weavers at work in the village. Explore a Buddhist temple and experience the simple life style of the villagers. See fields of rice, morning glory and fruit. Enjoy some local snacks and wander around the small produce market.
Pause and stroll around the Vietnamese village and see the fishing boats, floating fish farms and the pretty Catholic Church. Say goodbye to the tuk-tuk and board a boat to enjoy your sunset from the junction of three rivers: the Tonle Bassac, Tonle Sap and the Mekong.
Marvel at the distinctive architecture of Cambodia, where Khmer-influenced buildings such as Wat Ounalom, the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda meet French colonial buildings – some renovated, some ravaged by neglect and war.
